I started powerlifting around the middle of 2023 after reaching out to Maddie and since then, she has helped me increase my numbers like crazy! My squat going from 255 lbs to 297 lbs, bench going from 105 lbs to 132 lbs and deadlift going from 275 lbs to 319 lbs. Training with Maddie at Iron Throne has been such a surreal experience. Maddie not only introduced me to a new gym and sport, but to a whole supportive community and family at Iron Throne. In the short span of three months, I am close to benching a plate and can tempo my previous PR for reps! My deadlifts have been blowing up week by week by more than 15lbs at a time. Maddie emphasized the importance of mobility and its translated directly to my squats. I began training with Maddie at Iron Throne from the first quarter of 2023 and now it’s the end of the year and I am so pleased with the progress I have made. I have a very busy schedule but I always knew I wanted to pursue powerlifting. However, I needed an entry point. Viewing Maddie’s progress over the years I chose her as a mentor to get me integrated into the powerlifting world. I began working with her with a back injury which I sustained from work. Maddie was very adaptive around my injury and made sure we made gradual progress without comprising my health. I would feel down some days of the lack of progress but Maddie always kept me striving for more and she motivated me to continue pushing myself despite the stalls. She is a powerhouse that gives hope for the girls that want to begin powerlifting and gaining strength. Iron Throne has truly become a second home for me over the months working with Maddie. I found myself this year in the walls that incapsulate such a driven community of lifters that are always willing to give a helping hand. Jordan has done a phenomenal job of creating a safe space for lifters to grow and thrive. As a lifter I have a long road ahead and I am glad both Maddie and Iron Throne act as my foundational blocks to reach my lifting goals.

I have been working with Maddie in person for almost a year. I was very anxious about starting powerlifting at my age but Maddie has calmed my nerves, helped me grow stronger as well as making me believe in myself. She works around my schedule, sends me my programs and gives me feed back on my videos. I do one day a week in person training with her and she is awesome. She critiques my lifts in a very positive way which gives me insensitive.It’s not easy coaching a masters athlete as we are prone to more injuries but she always has my back. I first started training with Vince at Iron Throne roughly a year and a half ago and it has been one of the most amazing journeys I’ve ever been on. Vince has truly helped me build the strongest version of myself, not only physically but also mentally. He has helped me go from not knowing how to use a barbell, to competing in 2 competitions and has helped me accomplish some major milestones I had set since I started lifting. Since starting with Vince, I have added 112lbs to my squat, 50 lbs to my bench, and 127lbs to my deadlift. I am more confident, more empowered, and genuinely the strongest I have ever been. As a total beginner to the world of powerlifting, my experience at Iron Throne while training with Vince has been awesome. I came to Iron Throne for a workshop to improve my deadlift. Vince set me up with a training plan for the month and it was a great experience. Super friendly community and lots of fun equipment I haven’t found at other gyms. There’s Strongman equipment and grip training stuff that I’ve been having a lot of fun with. Also put 35lbs on my deadlift in one month! So I’ll be sticking around!
After my latest Westerns meet last year, I injured my knee and basically had to re-learn how to squat. Initially, I wanted to take a break from powerlifting but with the support of my friends, from Iron Throne I made the decision to get coached by one my friends Vince. With his previous expertise and knowledge, he has made my squat goals come to fruition!! My overall total has increased under his guidance, so for anyone interested in coaching and is new, Vince is a great supporter!! I can’t say enough amazing things about my experience at the Throne and for the complete life change that Vince has helped me achieve.
